  60. This package contains the program Examine v1.40, by Aquila
  61. Software. This document contains only a brief description of the
  62. package and its features, along with instructions for its installation.

  65. If you've ever wished you could quickly find specific words and
  66. information in your files, then Examine is the program for you, with its
  67. ability to search both text and binary files using either ordinary words
  68. or GREP-like regular expressions.

  70. Examine is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes
  71. all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may
  72. use it for up to 30 days, without charge. If you like the program, and
  73. wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you are required

  75. details).  Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers,

  102. The installation procedure for Examine is relatively straightforward.

  104. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTE
  105.  
  106. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  107.  
  108.    o  Place the diskette in the appropriate diskette drive.
  109.  
  110.    o  If you want to install the program on a new directory on your
  111.       hard disk then create the directory using the MKDIR command at
  112.       the DOS prompt or using the File | Create Directory command in
  113.       the Windows File Manager.

  115.    o  Copy the files to the directory of your choice using the COPY
  116.       command at the DOS prompt or the facilities of the Windows File
  117.       Manager.

  120. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  122. If you downloaded Examine from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  123. archive files from some other source), you will need to extract the
  124. contents of the archive file(s) into the directory of your choice on
  125. your hard drive. If you want to create a new directory for Examine then
  126. use the MKDIR command at the DOS prompt or use the File | Create
  127. Directory command in the Windows File Manager.

  131. Once you've complete the installation Examine should be ready to run.
  132. The program has comprehensive on-line help (EXAMINE.HLP) which you

  138. UNINSTALLING THE PROGRAM

  140. To uninstall the program you should run File Manager and move to the
  141. directory containing Examine. If you have other Aquila Software
  142. products on your hard disk such as ExamineZip you should not delete the
  143. files AQUILA12.DLL and CTL3D.DLL unless you are sure that the other
  144. programs have their own copies of these files. Otherwise all the files
  145. listed at the beginning of this document can be deleted. In the \WINDOWS
  146. directory you will find the file EXAMINE.INI which can also be removed.
